Why Poetry?

Years ago, yoga and meditation cracked me open. In the stillness, I felt it—this longing to create from the depths of me. Not to be a poet necessarily, but to be free, to feel deeply and to tell the truth. Since then, poetry has been my sacred outlet. My rebellion. My confession booth. My temple. My transmission. It’s where the wild and the wisdom, the pain and the joy, the grief and the ecstasy, find sacred union. I write to remember. I write to thrive. I write to be alive. I write to show you that there’s more to feel—and that feeling is worth it!
